Today's offering showcases this beautiful Certified Pre-Owned ladies Cartier Tank watch. It has an iconic tank case, Cartier dial made from lapis lazuli, gold "epee" hands, and sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement.
Its beautiful blue lapis style, which makes it look suggestive of a starry evening, is complemented by its dark navy blue Cartier strap with original Cartier buckle.
Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen gave individual attention to each wristwatch. As a result, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.
Our Cartier Tank has all of its original parts. Its case presents in good condition - the tips of the lugs show gold wearthrough and it has fairly light wear. On the wrist it presents nicely. Please inquire if you would like the case refinished.
Its original dial presents beautifully. As is customary with vintage Cartier dials, the lacquer has crazing hairlines visible if tilted at certain angles - otherwise it is just short of mint. Its Cartier band has been previously worn but is very serviceable, and the original Cartier buckle shows plating wear. If you wanted to have the case refinished the buckle could be as well.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
